About Jeanette Holloway

If Jeanette were to distill the essence of her life's experiences into a poignant poem, Langston Hughes' "Mother to Son" would be the perfect encapsulation. Just like the mother in the poem, Jeanette knows that life's path has been far from a crystal stair. Despite the hurdles and challenges she has faced, she is unwavering in her belief that perseverance is key. She encourages everyone she encounters to keep pushing forward, even when they stumble, because it is through resilience that true growth happens.

Jeanette firmly believes that the past should never dictate the future. She understands that each person has a unique story to tell, and the healing journey begins when one acknowledges that their past is an integral part of who they are. She urges others to embrace their stories and share them with the world. Jeanette knows from personal experience that removing the masks we wear allows for genuine healing and offers hope to others.

Just like Jeanette, you will come to appreciate and honor the invaluable presence of your own Phoebe - the trusted and chosen woman God has strategically placed in your life at the right place and time to help you navigate life's muddy waters.

Born in Queens, NY, and raised on Long Island, Jeanette now resides in Georgia. She is an integral part of one of Atlanta's largest social service nonprofit organizations. In December 2021 she graduated with honors from Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy with a focus on Nonprofit Leadership. Serving others is ingrained in her DNA. Whether Jeanette is mentoring pre-teen and teenage girls, reading to children, assisting high school seniors with their FASFA forms, or teaching life skills to incarcerated women at the local county jail, Jeanette is dedicated to making a positive impact.

She serves in the children's ministry and co-leads the Wednesday Women's Bible Study at her church, contributes to her community's homeowners association as a Board of Directors member, and recently initiated a pioneering mentoring program called Phoebes in Training, targeting girls aged 9 to 16. In her personal life, she finds immense joy in spending time with her loving family and their village.

Jeanette's hope is that her story inspires you to share your own and embark on a transformative journey toward healing from the inside out.

About Us

This is the story of My Phoebe

ROMANS 16:1-2 (The Passion Translation)

Now, let me introduce to you our dear and beloved sister in the faith, Phoebe, a shining minister of the church in Cenchrea. I am sending her this letter and ask that you shower her with your hospitality when she arrives. Embrace her with honor, as is fitting for one who belongs to the Lord and is set apart for him. I am entrusting her to you, so provide her whatever she may need, for she’s been a great leader and champion for many—I know, for she’s been that for even me!

Many people are victims of life and grow up feeling incomplete because there is so much they believe may have been missing from their lives. So, rather than flourish, they learn to survive, put on a mask, and act as if things are good. However, at some point, they all have to deal with the “baggage” in their lives. My Phoebe was God created and birthed from a place of resentment, regret, bitterness, and unforgiveness. I would venture to say, all of us have a Phoebe (or Phoebes) in our lives. That person who saw through our outer shell and carved an indelible mark in your memory bank and heart. That person who saw through your hurt and pain and was there for you. That person who saw YOU – the real YOU! My Phoebe is the story of these beautiful women who poured out agape love, seeking nothing in return. You see, my life was filled with Phoebes, and I didn't realize it until I became an adult and came to understand the required sacrifice that agape love takes. When I came face-to-face with the baggage I carried from my childhood into adulthood and confronted God with all my angry whys about my mother’s heroin addiction and things I saw and dealt with growing up, he showed me how he had my back. He showed me how he strategically positioned Phoebes in my life exactly where and when I needed them most. I was astonished! I didn't understand then, because I just thought that's what people do. However, hindsight taught me that this is not so, but that God is true to His word when he says, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” My life and every experience I’ve had was divinely designed for me. You see, I have been blessed throughout my life with many Phoebes to guide and do life with me. My Phoebe is a way to celebrate and pay homage to these beautiful, trusted, and chosen women! But, most importantly, it is also a way for me to come out from under my shell of insecurity and doubt and step into my “Phoebehood”, just the way God destined for me, to continue this connected, limitless circle of giving that he uses to express his agape love for his children. The pieces of my life's puzzle have finally come together. The beautiful, magnificent picture of the life that God, in all of his artistry, has been designing finally came into clarity. I'm walking in my purpose, and now it all makes sense...

What a beautiful presentation. The women really needed to hear from you. Many beautiful comments came with a general consensus that you were "inspiring". Truly you are beautiful and were an inspiration for us all.

Thank you for sharing your time and testimony. Peace be with you always.

I am so excited to have a platform like this to honor people who make a difference in your life. My Phoebe is a woman who showed love to me and my family when I was a (single parent).

She demonstrated the love of Christ by doing and not just by talking. My gratitude will always be etched in print for people to read how she is a Phoebe.

You never know what light you may spark in others just through your kindness, love, support, wisdom, servitude, lifestyle, and example.  That being said, you may not know whose life you are impacting.

Unbeknownst to me, I was selected by my girlfriend to be her Phoebe.
